Our band started in 2006. Maybe it seems funny, but the idea of Funkiez comes from a person, who is not a member of our band, but still, he is our home guru, an excellent musician and a good friend – Umelec („The Artist“). Every member of Funkiez has his/her specific sound influenced by various genre of music. Robo (drums) is perfect in drum´n´bass, Vrabec („Sparrow“ – guitar, vocals) is the real rocker, Patrick (bass and vocals) loves funky grooves, I (vocals) am into soul and pop and Martin (keys) likes nu-jazz, jazz and soul...But we all enjoy to play the music of the 80-ties and are big fans of great stage show! Everybody, who comes to our gigs knows what I am talking about.
And one more thing. After three years of our existence, we are about to give birth to our first baby – our debut CD, which should be out in fall 2009. Be ready for some ill grooves and lunatic lyrics!
